New sliding door and 2 large satelite windows :: 2008

One of my employers at did most of the installation work – this was a learning experience for me.  Am sad I cannot find a picture of Jeff doing something, I think he managed to hide from the camera.  I had prep and post work to do – stripping the brick off the back half of the house, tear out an internal wall, and existing 50’s cabinetry.  It’s a great view now.

The small upper windows are all hinged at the top, so they swing open from the bottom.  We can leave these open during a rain storm.  Also, this is the south side of the house, which gets hottest.  Leaving these windows open draws the cooler air from the north side of the house and the basement, because of natural convection.
